Venue Hire

St James offers a range of welcoming spaces for hire, from our hall and meeting room to the church itself. Whether you're planning a children's party, a community group, a class, or a special gathering, we'd love to help you find the right space. All bookings support our work in the local community.

Our church hall offers a welcoming, family-friendly space that is ideal for children’s parties and community group activities.

The hall comfortably accommodates up to 50 seated guests or 80 standing, providing plenty of space for party games, entertainers, group activities, and relaxed social gatherings. The hall is well suited for birthday parties, playgroups, clubs, classes, and local community meetings. Our hall is 16m long by 8.4m wide. We can also provide a bouncy castle as part of your hire package on request — please check with us in advance so we can confirm availability and suitability for your event. If you would like to hire your own bouncy castle, please check with us before booking so we can confirm the height is sufficient.

The hall was recently upgraded with a new partition wall (generously funded by a community grant from the National Lottery), so it can now be divided into two spaces.

A fully equipped kitchen is available for food preparation and refreshments. A key advantage of the venue is its onsite parking for up to 20 vehicles. This is a rare feature in the local area and a significant benefit for parents, organisers, and guests alike. The hall also includes access to a private patio garden, offering an additional outdoor area for play, socialising, and summer events with a BBQ.

The Giddings Room

The Giddings Room is a comfortable smaller room at the rear of the church hall with coffee-making facilities, ideal for small groups. For rates and more information, please contact venuehire@stjameskidbrooke.org.

St James Church

Our church building is also available to hire. As a place of worship, we make it available for community use and events with genuine social impact, and we ask all hirers to be respectful of the church as a place of worship. Hire is subject to our ethics policy, available on request, which sets out what kinds of events and activities we're able to support.

Parking Hire

In addition to our hall and church spaces, we also offer parking space hire for up to 20 cars — a practical option for local businesses, teams, or organisations in need of reliable, convenient parking. Available on an ongoing or one-off basis, with hours of access subject to availability, this is a straightforward parking solution close to the Kidbrooke Park Station and Kidbrooke Village.
